    I still like that idea, a lot, but I wonder how many people would use it? Maybe in a setting like an arcade, with it set up at a kiosk? I'd still like to make that possible, but given the difficulties, I'm trying to think of other uses for the CA engine.

    It's generally an Zelda-1-style world, but the world could change over time using a continuing CA underpinning. Players could affect the world in a shared play kind of way, but only one player would play at a time.

    I have a piece of tech in search of a game. A few years back I created a cellular automation map builder with a unique underpinning, for a project intended to be a simple public exploration game. The game idea was, players could play for a five minute day with their character.
