Me gusta públicos de la red Bluesky.
If it lays eggs inside a paper bag, you'll know if it's a cormorant.
Ver postGreat to get some research giving insights into why some people may respond to vaccines (covid-19 having been used in the study) with more adverse reactions than others. These are still minor discomforts, although temporarily debilitating for a few, compared to the dangers of the actual disease.
Ver postThis looks fascinating! I must head up to Edinburgh to check it out. Through a first edition account of the smallpox vaccination from 1798, my favourite bio artist Anna Dimitriu's take on the microbiome and cholera case reports from (1848–1849) and more our relationship with microbes is explored.
Ver postThis is true across all of life science research. The bottleneck is always the experimentation and trials, never the modelling. Which is why AI can only ever offer modest gains. Experiments and trials are already optimised in design, all that's left is the ability to speed up regulatory submissions.
Ver postRelatedly, integrating evolutionary selection processes into experiments is far more powerful at finding novel results than predictive AI will ever manage. Screening a million small molecules to find one candidate is easy and cheap. Practically no efficiency gains to be had there.
