    The underlying problem was not defeated as evidenced by california failing prop 40. Massive wealth inequlity is at the center of everything. It caused trump, fascism to rise, corruption of elections, buying scotus judges, the tech oligarchy. So until we have centibillionairs things will go downhill.

    Gerrymandering is insidious and the districts Dems were able to win this time will now work to CRIPPLE what some of these Dems feel comfortable doing while governing. We STILL need to pass laws (and possibly constitutional amendments) to restrain gerrymandering.

    I said this on @nativelandpod.bsky.social but I'll repeat it here: A dangerous narrative is going to be "the GOP gerrymandering didn't work." NO. It worked GREAT. We just OVERCAME it. But we'd have even MORE seats, and different candidates could have won those seats, without the gerryamndering.

    I think Americans seem somewhat inherently sexist too unfortunately. Trump has won twice, both times against women.
