Seeing a couple takes today that were like "wow crushing Dem victories, it seems like the news media wasn't so Republican-friendly after all" and idk it feels kinda like going up to a bunch of guys who just stormed omaha beach and telling them "haha i told you machine guns dont work"

The underestimation of Dems last night was larger than any pro-Republican error in the polls over the last decade with the exception of 2020. And I don't see major media orgs fundamentally reshaping their columnist slates or editorial priorities to address their "blind spot," as they did after 2024.

As the risk of sounding like a downer, it's worth stressing that Texas is blue *now* but there is zero guarantee it lasts. It took some truly galactic-level GOP f**k-ups and displays of arrogance to get to last night. Democrats now have a TX majority. The question is whether they can keep it.
