Send your journalism friends this way. It is genuinely life-changing: space to breathe, learn, grow, and innovate, facilitated by excellent humans who curate cohorts of people with an eye on how they might work together. It’s a gift. (They didn’t ask me to post this. I’m just very happy.)
Ver posthello SF. I am BACK for a week. hit me up if: 1) you want to learn more about @jskstanford.bsky.social -- I'm at the NLGJA conference for a few days as an ambassador for the program. 2) you want to chat data journalism, audience strategy, nonprofit news structures, earned revenue, etc.
Ver postToday marks two weeks in California for me. The start of the @jskstanford.bsky.social has cemented for me that this is a gift: something I badly needed, and something I feel very lucky to be a part of. Good things will happen this year. And what lovely people to be in fellowship with.
Ver postHighly recommend the new Tom Rosenstiel book, "The Next Journalism." It's full of examples, but its real value is its guidance in getting journalists thinking in fresh ways about our craft and mission, and particularly about how we engage with our communities. This is fertile ground.
