i feel like the main thing is store fronts should not be the only space for curation, since they're bad at it. when i first got into the game scene there were a bunch of small websites writing about neat indie games and you could reliably hear about really good stuff being made all the time

(And, of course, sometimes you'll just get really bad/mean/unhelpful feedback. Not everyone is experienced at giving it! It's okay to crash out on occasion - to crash out is human, but keep it to a group chat or your journal. But let's try to keep it to a minimum for everyone's health hehe.)

Feedback should help the other party feel empowered and like they know what their next steps are, rather than feel pointed, mean-spirited, or bewildering. And never be afraid to ask follow-up questions for clarification or further direction: that's all part of being a professional!

It's worth noting that being able to GIVE good feedback is as important of a skill as being able to RECEIVE it! "This isn't good" isn't helpful, as it's not actionable! "I think we could really heighten the tension in this scene's dialogue" IS actionable and helpful. Be polite but direct about it!

the public are shouting at the top of their lungs that the politics of El-Sayed are what they want, not cowards and collaborationists. at -SOME POINT-, the people who have been ruining everything for the longest time while claiming to be the good guys are going to have to listen.
