@nybirdnews.bsky.social I arrived in the fog this morning at Brimham Rocks with the intention of seeing the Great-grey Shrike, which I managed at 10.25, and when the mist cleared half an hour later I was amazed to find myself 20 feet away from a Desert Wheatear sat in a small willow!
Ver postThe Subalpine Warbler at Newton Pool on 4th October has been confirmed as Western Subalpine Warbler by DNA analysis (which gave a 100% match). Big thanks to @docmartin2mc.bsky.social for his help with this one. 👍 #NEbirding #BirdRinging
Ver postFinally got the chance to go for the Rufous-tailed Robin this morning and it showed brilliantly at dawn on the path next to where we were staring deep in to the gully #UKBirding
Ver postScope views of a Jack Snipe at Brockholes LWT today. 2 Dunlin and an unseasonal Oystercatcher also present. The drake Red-crested Pochard present on and off since July now in fine plumage. #LancsBirding
Ver postAt Brockholes this morning, a Yellow-browed Warbler was confidently heard twice by the onsite ringer. A male Sparrowhawk mist netted was originally ringed on the reserve on 13th Aug 2023.
