Well, a fly by Glossy Ibis was not on my cards for today. But it happened. Although couldn’t relocate 😕 A good #PWC2026 #WestrayBirding year tick up here. Or is it? I’ve recorded them here in four of my six years here now inc the flock of 11 that wintered here in 21/22.

The stangs on Ouessant are wet, wooded valleys that are great for migrants. They can be frustrating bits of habitat to work and I should imagine many a difficult bird has vanished in these dense clumps. Hard to resist diving in though when the calls of crests and phylloscs are coming from within.

An after-lunch visit to the Stonebarrow area produced an amazing 9 Firecrests (the most I've seen in one place, ever!) plus 3 Goldcrests, a Chiff and a bonus Marsh Tit. I think the countryside E of Charmouth is going to be seeing a lot more of me. 😄 #DorsetBirds
