I've given detailed analyses often and that was not the point here. The point is average consumers. And in such cases the rebate is a scam. It's the product of a political ideology not best practices. Just like ON electric rate schedules

Forgoing the govt's rebate opting for standard net metering brings the financial payback down to a much more viable 23 to 29 years. This path allows homeowners to bank 1:1 retail credits during heavy summer production and roll them over for up to 12 months to wipe out their winter bills.
