    Agree with Schumer. Disagree re: Jeffries. Jeffries was fantastic as Pelosi’s second. Judging him based off of his time as minority leader seems a little shortsighted to me. I think he’s earned the chance to prove himself.

    oh, I’ve definitely been wrong. I don’t think I’m wrong about Jeffries, though. There’s no reason for him to beat his chest about accountability - that’s for his committee chairs to do. Jeffries is responsible for trying to deliver on this mandate from the American people. Affordability, etc.

    I completely understand where people are coming from. We just gave the Democrats a historic mandate, and they need to take it and run. But I would be absolutely shocked if Jeffries isn’t the Speaker, and I think we have to trust the people we just elected to pick their own leader.
