bronies r a cautionary tale. the early days of the fandom was just cishet men divining a way to engage with femininity and childishness without actually elevating it or respecting it, and instead treating it as an alternative avenue to achieve masculine status.
Ver postthe distinction is whether the adult fans are elevating the parts that cater to kids, instead of hyperfixating on whatever "adult" signifiers they can scrounge from the property and developing deeply unreasonable expectations that the property appeal to them as adults
Ver posta small but loyal adult fandom for a preschool property can be constructive, i think, like if only cus adults are *making* the show and maybe they'd like to hear feedback from an audience that understands how shows r made, i don't think it has to be intrusive.
