  Thank you Mr. Carney, but this one feels a bit performative. The $ people will receive wont make much difference, it is not much. The monopolization of grocery stores is what got us here. Protecting competition keeps prices lower. Canada needs to force the break-up of the grocery conglomerates

  The UK passed a law that made it illegal for grocery stores to throw out or destroy edible produce or keep it on the shelves until it's rotten. They're mandated to donate it to food banks and soup kitchens because the loss is already accounted for in profit margins. Simple solution, big impact.
