Schumer in particular is vulnerable to this argument. He’s a known quantity in leadership, he’s not going to impress anyone, he’s been actively hostile to some key rising Dems, he’s old, and his main link to middle-class families are imaginary friends who probably voted for Cuomo and Trump.

They are simply out of sync with what Democrats are right now, which is best embodied by folks like Annie Andrews or Jon Ossoff: hardly leftists, but unapologetic Trump haters reflecting the liberal middle class values of Sun Belt suburbs.

It’s a waste of time to try to boot Schumer and Jeffries now - I don’t like them but guys, it’s not going to happen - but their opponents should absolutely hammer on the fact that a newly national party made up of fire-breathing resistance libs shouldn’t be run by two money men from New York City.

The president appears to have literally lost his mind and is spiraling. He’s late-stage Nixon with 10% of Nixon’s scruples and 1% of Nixon’s brain. He’s raving alone in a bunker with three loyalists and the nuclear codes. He needs to be told to leave.
