I keep hoping, but it doesn't feel likely. I'm stuck with family for the time being who are moderately hostile to the idea, in a town that's extremely hostile (funny story, a murderer lives just down the street!). No money, no doctor, no network of friends. Just keep hoping something will change

But if you can imagine a way where there's even a non-zero possibility of you starting within the next year, I hope you can find it in you to start. Because I don't want to see even one trans person wither away like this.

I don't know what your situation is like. It might be extremely risky to come out or to start HRT. You might be under tighter controls than I can imagine. Maybe somehow going stealth, or DIY, or running away, aren't even options. I don't know.

I also have a few friends, who want to transition, but are way more hard stuck living with their families. I'm doing my best to offer them support from afar. And the encouragement to just try it anyway, or come out in their current situations, even if it's not perfect.
