Enginerd. I'm not comfortable with cold DMs from folk who just followed me and have not interacted in my feed.

I think being a copper is probably one of the hardest jobs in the world. You get to meet people at their worst every single day. You’re given extraordinary power to help you deal with very real threats. But it’s also the reason not all people can or should be able to do that job.

The Northcote teenager if I remember was provoking and prodding and almost asking to be shot. Yet they found (or put) themselves in a situation where the officers did fear for their own safety and felt the only way out was to shoot him. Terrible for the family and not great for the officers.

I have this radical idea that frontline police should have a very limited time in that role. No matter what your motivations when starting, do that job for 15yrs and you’ll see everyone as a threat and risk to your own safety.
