    The people you imagine judging you may or may not be really out there judging you right now. Realistic trauma recovery is going to ask you to let them judge whatever they feel it necessary to judge. They're gonna do it anyway. Keep bringing your focus back, here, now.

    There'll be people who think your emotional injuries are stupid, & your conditioned behaviors are "choices" that reveal your "character." Understand: those people know exactly jack & sh*t about how humans function, & are just getting off to fantasies of their own invulnerability.

    Setting boundaries is not as easy as some make it sound, especially when we're entangled in or dependent on unsafe relationships & systems. It is not your fault or "weakness" for currently lacking the autonomy & safety that make realistic boundaries possible.

    Saying how we really feel "should" be safe-- but everybody reading this knows that it's not always. It's one reason why trauma recovery is complicated in the real world. We "should" be safe-- but safety is complicated & conditional out there. We can't deny or ignore this.
