  Still very hard for Marta's friends and colleagues here at LMB to find the words, but here are some good ones from Roger Highfield to appreciate a little of who she was and what she did. My heart goes out to her family and her research group especially, but she touched so many lives for good.

  We are all so saddened by the tragic passing of our colleague and friend Marta. A shock to our community. We will cherish her memory, which is filled with enthusiasm, generosity, and collegiality.

  At my lowest moments during my PhD we would get lunch and coffee, and she would tell me how it would all blow over. Crack jokes with knowing look. She wrote me recommendation letters for all of my post-doc applications and for my subsequent K99 application this year. 4/
