  We did eventually get to see concept art, & there were 2 semi-coherent visions for it before it got "mocapified": Blizzard/Riot-core big bold shapes & crazy colors, which is why Starchild actually looks weird & interesting, & then Morbius stylized realism with sleek, bony, organ-like biotech

  whats fucked up is we have a great example of how to translate moebius to photorealism & it's literally the biggest media franchise of the 20th century. people have discussed to *death* how they made that style work in star wars and concord somehow still beefed it.

  it's very impressive how they perfectly executed the vibe of a Z-list FMV game from 1994 or a public access sci-fi movie where everyone is vaguely uncomfortable and doesn't wanna be there, except meticulously animated in CG so these are all intentional directive choices.
