    Later we made small Rotor rides for a lab practicum. Students predicted minimum angular speed for Elmo to stay stuck. I think you could get OK data from spinning with a textbook, but you also would get sick!

    A textbook will stick to your hand for a short time if you run quickly across the room. We discuss how friction holds it up because there is a normal force causing the accel. I ask how I can get it to stick for a longer time. Spin with your hand on the outside and it sticks until you are too dizzy.
