With SEGA having Atlus and how well Metaphor ReFantazio did it just feels like it could at least be a mid-scale project and gives people a taste of the series origin again. Especially with the 40th anniversary coming up. It’s wishful thinking but I try to be hopeful~
Ver postI agree. It’s why I specifically have wanted them to do a remake of the first game (I prefer the Classic series). The series is seen as a Legacy IP by them despite being ongoing but for the last few decades the lack of games outside of the online series will always make it remain niche unfortunately
Ver postIt’s kinda funny how I was thinking about this way earlier today and then SEGA goes and shows music specifically from the Gurhal series being used. I was speculating about why they kept a hold just on those games too alongside Oracle (obvious reason why).
Ver postOne thing worth noting I think is that the Gurhal subseries are the only games that SEGA wants keep a hold on outside of the Oracle subseries. That’s just based on awhile back with the IP agreement they did for the TTRPG book as well. Still, I agree it’s very odd all around.
