Ver postI think it would be really cool for authors to do some kind of symbolic protest when AO3 comes back, to highlight how author-unfriendly fandom as a whole has become. I only have a few vague ideas right now, and of course staging an AO3 protest in a way that doesn't break OTW rules would be hard.

And those are the people who would most likely be the ones taking the content and porting it elsewhere, then complaining that their life is so hard w/o AO3. If your life is so bad w/o AO3, why didn’t you show appreciation before
