Ver postI'm guessing changes in design means that carriages won't 'telescope' into each other any more. If you think of how one part of a telescope slides into another, you realise just how horrific it would be for the people inside if one carriage did that into another.
Ver postTrue. At Stonehaven I was amazed at how fragile the actual structure of the coaches are, part fibreglass and part wood. Those coaches derailed rather than 'telescoped'. But, there must be a better safer option available.
