I don’t really think “not a politician” should be a selling point for a candidate. The job is politician. I want to elect someone who understands that job and is good at it and also is not a dirtbag. We have seen how catastrophic it is to make “not a politician” the priority over “not a dirtbag.”
Ver postI think the main problem with the Chargers is that they don't have any good players. All of their players are bad. It's hard for a team to be good when this is the case.
Ver postoutfielder teammates to both win Gold Glove in consecutive years: 2025-26 BOS Ceddanne Rafaela, Wilyer Abreu 1990-92 PIT Barry Bonds, Andy Van Slyke 1978-79 BOS Dwight Evans, Fred Lynn
Ver postWhy do I avoid making predictions? In 2004, I noted at work that I thought the polls were exaggerating Bush's lead and Kerry would make it closer than we thought. And it *was* closer than predicted but Kerry lost. The day after, a senior colleague greeted me in the hallway with "YOU WERE WRONG!"
Ver postNate Silver's averaging Talarico's lead to about 3%, which is easier for me to believe and also close enough that either outcome is possible. I think the Dems are going to do historically well in gubenatorial elections, but I'll be (pleasantly) surprised if they flip BOTH the house and senate.
