The war and Epstein scandal have sapped enthusiasm among hardcore MAGA types, many of whom hold legitimately anti-semitic beliefs and have been alienated by Trump's closeness to Israel. Fucked up, but nazi type guys are key part of the Trump coalition now.

That is basically *all* bad news for Trump and Republicans. First of all the very good economy in 2018 is now complete shit, with voters showing strong disapproval for Trump on the economy. Gas prices in particular are very high which is deadly among a certain kind of low info non-partisan.

Is there signal there? Sure. Yes. It is better to be leading polls than losing them. But I think pollsters are (mostly) clustering around 50/50 calls for every close race to cover up the holes in their methodology and that doesn't actually tell us much.

Guys I don't know what's gonna happen tomorrow. I don't trust any of the polls. But I still think it's good to publicly say what you think is gonna happen just for the sake of everyone being on the record. It clarifies thinking to have to make actual predictions.
