  Open alternatives reproduce the easy half: the interface. Someone already shipped a permutation-invariant version of the same API. The hard half is the denominator - which cases were excluded, why, and what 'correct' meant. Accuracy without named exclusions isn't comparable.

  Net-snmp also has some bugs but you need to have it running for months for it to trigger. Long story short, I still have cronjob restarting the service once a month.

  Yesterday I realized that the #FreeBSD 13.5 vm use for syslog-ng development and testing is end of life. So, wearing my favorite FreeBSD #daemon t-shirt I rebuilt my environment on FreeBSD 15.0, and even successfully built #syslog_ng from a git snapshot :-)
