  This was posted on the other place by Nikki da Costa, who is an opponent of assisted dying - but also has an excellent understanding of party management, having done the job for Boris Johnson. The potential for the issue to cause a new government pain is very real.

  I know people feel raw about this and I do understand. I’d have voted for a workable bill. But having spoken on a number of occasions on palliative care and social care it’s pretty galling to be accused of bad faith

  When disabled people oppose Assisted Dying, it’s almost never from a religious point of view. It’s not because we’re anti-choice or that we want to force people to suffer. We oppose it because society devalues disabled lives and uses these programs in an unethical manner. They become eugenics. 🧵
