  Only four years since Johnson made a big splash of imperial units, and held a consultation in which 98% of those surveyed told him not to be so fucking stupid. But four years is long enough for another two million of the people old enough to have learned imperial to have died.

  Exactly this. When people complained about us removing the non-dom status, they predicted a mass exodus. This of course never came because things like enforcement of contract law and a lack of gulags is actually quite attractive.
