Perhaps. But if it happens, then our largest market and trading partner's gone, and we're on the outside of that. We wouldn't benefit from any shared chat, european bank support, prop up, or bail out, but we'd nonetheless be subject to the same plunge without any safety net, no?

I guess, philosophically, if all that happens (and I think some of that is a pretty big "if", tbh), then would you rather be part of a group, or isolated on your own? I'm not sure that the UK market is large or attractive enough to be independent, and so it's the ol' James Acaster teabag metaphor?

The EU will face challenges for sure but it has already weathered many that have seen people predict a collapse. I would think a collapse is highly unlikely (which is not to say it will all be smooth sailing). However, I am really trying to stay out of this on sociial media so don’t drag me back in…
