    Whoa, whoa. Majority Leader does *not* require a good communicator. Did you ever see McConnell speak? One of the most powerful MajLdrs *ever*, and he had the charisma of a stale donut. But he was good at getting what he wanted and keeping his caucus in line.

    I’ve been very critical of Schumer over the years, but credit where it’s due: he personally recruited Cooper, Brown, and Peltola. Would still rather see a different majority leader, but he did good work. I think Jeffries is going to surprise a lot of people as the FIRST Black Speaker, though.
