    I know. I sometimes get told by English people that "without us, you'd all be speaking German" or "the EU is eradicating European culture" so of course I ask them how come Ireland's language is English these days.

    And the only reason we share their language is because they basically, cruelly and systemically eradicated our native tongue, Gaelige. So so many of them nowadays see us as just Brits living to the west of them. Some even still think we're part of the UK, which we would quickly disavow them of.
