if there's no real reason i need to animate doodley, then it's a 2nd channel thing. usually if i'm just talking about a specific piece of media, or an abstract concept i can't really visualize the strength with the main channel is demonstrating things via animation, but that has its own limits

meanwhile the deadlock vid can only ever be 2nd channel because i have a metric ton of stuff to talk about and i do not want to edit a 40 min vid, i just wanna throw gameplay on screen and edit in examples of what i talk about as i go. but i do wanna do slightly fancy stuff ala funke's 2nd channel

the exception is if the topic is very broad and grandiose, then it's main channel. for ex., here is a batshit insane title i wrote down: "kung fu panda and the infinite potential of animation" seemed like a 2nd channel vid until i thought about it more and realized it goes Way beyond that movie

i've wanted to make a 2nd channel for a while but i've been talking it more seriously lately not just because i really wanna make that deadlock vid, but also because i realized there's a lot of topics i want to talk about that can't really be their own video. it will literally be The Yapping channel
