    I have some vague memories of a similar thing happening a little while ago (and I don't remember if they just reuploaded a ton of fics or were trying to profit from it) and I think people reported it to the hosting site as well and the entire site was taking down within a few days.

    Yeah, I don't feel comfortable doing that either. And how would they verify that that email is connected to my ao3 account anyway? I'm hoping the entire site just gets taken down quickly.

    i was just coming here to say this. they can’t verify our ao3 account information so it is raising alarms for me that they’re asking for that. but i haven’t given this a very close look. just depressing as hell though.
