that’s true whether it’s leftists calling Miller a kapo or right wing assholes calling Jews kapos for criticizing Israel. It’s all premised on treating desperate choices by victims of an industrialized genocide under duress as equivalent to political choices made voluntarily by free ppl in 2026

There are lots of other words in Yiddish or Hebrew or any other number of Jewish dialects to insult Jews who we think are traitors or morally repugnant etc. but using ‘kapo’ as a contemporary political attack trivializes the horrors of the Shoah to score a cheap but emotionally intense political jab

No one should be calling anyone a kapo because the premise of ‘kapo’ as an insult is to place oneself as morally superior to genocide victims making impossible choices trying to survive in concentration camps & assuming that were they in the camps they would be morally pure and never compromise
