    Get transitioned from ESA to universal credit? The amount you get each month is frozen compared to new UC claimants. On enhanced UC, try a job, but then get fired or can't manage it? Congrats, you lose enhanced UC and have to start a months-long application process for it all over again.

    The "civility" mentality that deems it fine to say, indirectly, to thousands "you need to be poorer" but bad manners to directly say to someone "your graph is dodgy". Now what is that if not the most hypocritical, thin-skinned and self-centred thing you've ever heard?

    Anyway, it's interesting how a journalist can have no problem writing an article arguing it's desirable to cut the incomes of people already in poverty, but does find it deeply rude and objectionable when someone criticises the article to their face.

    But for the record: "The welfare system is hard to rein" in reveals a biased premise, that it needs reining in, which I disagree with. It's hard to "rein in" because it serves a useful social purpose. And the idea that billionaires don't represent a severe economic failure isn't one I agree with
