it's 2011, I'm 17, and I've got a semi-popular fanfiction up on h*rry p*tter fanfiction dot com about the next gen kids going to art school. it's doing well, I've made fandom friends, I'm permanently sleep deprived because I'm staying up all night to chat to friends in the US on skype, life's good
Post anzeigensuddenly a fandom acquaintance slides into my DMs (aka sends me a formspring ask. anyone else remember formspring??) and is like: hey here's a link I thought you should see diva 💅 (of course we didn't talk like that in 2011 but that was the implied tone of the message)
Post anzeigenthe link? leads to one direction fanfiction dot com. to a fic that's a straight up plagiarised version of mine, except the main character has a different name, there's no magic, and scorpius malfoy has been replaced by harry styles. it's already doing numbers. the denizens of 1dff dot com love it.
Post anzeigenthey're going wild for kooky art school harry styles. except he's just my kooky art school scorpius malfoy with different hair. how do I deal with this? I do it in a mature and adultlike way befitting of my status as a chronically sleep-deprived 17 year old being egged on by her skype group chat:
Post anzeigenanyway that's why my icloud keychain still has a saved password for one direction fan fiction dot com which I've never been able to bring myself to delete. it's like a monument, one vast and trunkless leg of stone standing in the desert of my old fandom life
