It's an outstanding collection. There's also an exhibition a couple of miles off in Manchester Art Gallery, 'L.S Lowry and Adolphe Valette, Urban Landscapes' which is well worth seeing. Valette was Lowry's teacher, and the exhibition compares a variety of work by each of them. Also free.

'I'm attracted to decay, I suppose; in a way to ugliness, too. A derelict house gets me.' 'An Island', 1942, currently on show at Manchester Art Gallery as part of the 'LS Lowry and Adolphe Valette: Urban Landscapes' exhibition. Lowry was born #OTD 1 November 1887.

If this all seems a bit weird, you haven't heard the half of it. The full Paul Baxendale-Walker story is here buff.ly/pFPm8UH Including the time he threatened to charge me £500k for publishing an email he sent me.

A weird side point: the firm acting for the care home is Morr & Co. Morr & Co has acted for PBW, and for a bunch of users of his schemes. That seems ethically questionable. The schemes are crap. The users need independent advice. Query if Morr & Co can give it.

2/2 Here's the whole thing. At the bottom, Adam and Eve stand by the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, and King Solomon's Temple.
