IME progressive movements have always had issues with trans people. We can be obvious to in-group where we overlap with the rights of other minorities but we also represent a problem no one is quite ready to deal with: the hierarchal organization of human society by sex.

Obviously this problem also shows up with the rights of women and how easily those get frittered away in the political shuffle, but surely we see how hard it is to sustain momentum with that even with over a century of organized work from a much larger population.

Wow. When the Texas trans youth care ban went to the Texas state supreme court, it was not a 9-0 decision. It was 8-1. Debra Lehrmann (R) called the ban "cruel" and "unconstitutional." She will be joined by 4 dems in a 5-4 court. There is a chance every anti-trans measure could fall in Texas.
