Why do the orphans each have their own “room” at night? A room of one’s own doesn’t mean sleeping alone. The orphans bed down on soft hay, surrounded by the comforting rumbles of the others, with a Keeper beside them throughout the night. Each has a cosy space – close to the herd, but their own.

It's not supposed to. Just like personal shopping tools and dynamic pricing software, these tools are designed to maximize corporation profit. That's what having for-profit healthcare is for. Having a national healthcare system is for, providing healthcare.

It might not have been “Avery”but it was some AI generated determination that, while completely agreeing with me that it’s impossible to be prescribed anti-cancer meds w/o a previous cancer diagnosis, the humans refused to do anything about

I’ve had run ins with Avery before. It’s the software that told UHC I should be denied coverage for anti-cancer meds b/c I had a preexisting cancer diagnosis. The pill prevents a reoccurrence of cancer. You have to have had cancer to be prescribed it. The humans deferred to Avery & refused to help
