WAY more to come from me on this trade (and probably the team too!), but the Boston Celtics are now out of the second apron by $4.5M. The Celtics are $7.4M over the first apron and about $15.4M over the luxury tax.

In terms of real dollars from tax penalties, bc they were a tax repeater and so far over the tax line, I've got Boston reducing their projected tax bill for 25-26 by over $196M after their two trades. Boston saved about $27M in actual salary, but were on basically 7x-8x multiplier for the tax bill.

Yes, provided the end result of the trade has Boston staying under the second apron, they can aggregate salaries in trades.

An undeniably beautiful shot from today’s Thunder parade that captures the growth of the city and what it has overcome over the last 30 years to get to this moment — and just how much that title means to OKC. (via the OKC National Memorial IG story; taken — I believe — by Thunder photog Jimmy Do)

Seeing some more centrist folks imply that it was solely the focus on affordability that won the race for Mamdani. Absolutely bread and butter issues are key. But it was also his moral clarity. Economics and ethics. Prices and principles. Freeze the rent AND free Palestine.
