Trip up to Somerset today, cheddar reservoir was cold & very windy the 4 whooper swans were easy to see but the greater scaup (2)& GoldenEye Male & female were much harder to find with waves in the Reservoir.Also m&f RC Pochard. Greylake had 2 glossy ibis flying over. #UKBirding #Somersetbirds.

Fieldfares Turdus pilaris Venford Reservoir Devon This thrush is named after its 'pig-like' squeal flight call. The old English name fealu fearh & old Welsh socen lwyd means 'grey piglet' or 'grey pig' Still c1000 present in the area though more difficult to see as they feed on the ground #birds
