    Amid many budget bits there were a few lines on the civil service and more squeezes on admin budgets. Promise the piece by @hcdunlop.bsky.social and I is not as grim as title & pic below suggest, but if gov wants to cut the civil service there does need to be a better mechanism to get CS to leave...

    As @drbenpaxton.bsky.social says it's great that govt, having set efficiencies & savings targets, is now publishing against them. £9bn of efficiencies in 25-26 is enormous - so would also be v nice to have some more on methodology in there to see what's actually happening... Ben's thread is good 👇
