    Unfortunately, I'm getting back to the idea of the self-twisting yarn bowl. That spins the skein or cake as you pull yarn out. Either it tightens the twist, or loosens it, depending on how you have it set up. Though I'm still not sure how to build one of these...

    And then about a quarter of the way through (or, more likely, far less), the twist came back, and I'm spinning one end around the other pair of plies to untangle them. It's very slow work, but it's progressing well enough. Hopefully I can finish it by tonight.

    It took at least *eight* runs through my yarn winder (pushing the end of the yarn through the cake before running it through again) to get this length of yarn untwisted enough to at least *start* pulling the plies apart. #lower-decks-cardigan
