The problem with anti-fandom, which is what people are doing by endlessly boosting this stuff while shaking their heads disapprovingly on social media, is that it blows additional air into the original fandom. It's blue gamergate bullshit. Stop being a part of the problem.

*sigh* yes, the Anakin and Malfoid memes, the faked Cheesecake Factory and Cracker Barrel outrage, everything else, these are all right wing fandom. It's participatory culture and culture media. Covering any of it as *being culturally important* (other than meta-analysis) makes it important.
