so many saying "just ban it"... how? do you think the slopmongers are going to respect the ban? if you manually moderate it you run into the same core problem, that shitting out and uploading claudeware takes less time/effort than reporting it + reading+ acting on the report

like the thing is basically anything itch can do that would actually be effective is necessarily going to make it harder for good faith users, so to me the question to answer is "what change could introduce the most friction to someone shitting out vaporware and the least to a normal user"

fwiw i think the most effective thing itch can feasibly do is something along the lines of rate limit uploads for new accounts + prevent all uploads until you've bought something. which i think might be a worthwhile tradeoff but would still be a tradeoff, my point is they can't "just" anything
