So the Public School is being transformed into nothing more than a glorified sorting system that measures very accurately how high the houses are in the neighborhood surrounding the school. Incidentally, private and charter schools are not subject to these requirements. Anyway, rant over.

Also, the nature of testing is being hijacked by the UCP as well, so maybe there's a progressive school out there that wants to do-away with grades (Which are cancer to learning). Too bad, the UCP has mandated that all tests for all Public Schools will be standardized.

Which we, as taxpayers, pay a buttload of money in SaaS fees for, and it works worse than before we had it. Oh lets not forget the over testing where every grade, every year, every kid must take 2 standardized tests, and kids identified as having special needs get a 3rd one. No time for learning.

Prep blocks aren't just time to kick ones feet up and relax, they're time to prepare the classroom or plans for tomorrow, or data-enter the myriad of reports required because we already don't trust teachers to assess kids needs, so they need to data-enter everything into bloated ed-tech software.

I don't think there's a group that UCP hates more than teachers. Their new motions last week included public agenda of PD days, as well as a snitch line so people can complain on individuals directly to the provincial government.
