And Starmer wasn't? Every politician is afraid of opening that can of worms. Burnham seems to want to move closer to the EU. But they all know that any move to rejoin is just going to divide the country again. It does need someone with a spine to do it anyway. But I do get why they're wary.

I find Burnham certainly more inspiring than Starmer. I've read head north. And from his speeches I know far more what he actually believes should be the direction of the country. I don't agree with it all but then I'm further left of most of labour.

Look at my profile picture and the word plastered across my chest and ask me again if you think I want a trump like figure! I want a PM that is not only good at the job but can also inspire and make people believe in them and the government vision for the country. Starmer isn't that.
