That's very unhelpful! I remember when learning Russian in Tallinn years and years ago my teacher explained the sound Ы, which doesn't exist in English, by saying "like in Dr Zhivago!" Me: "oh, is that not pronounced "i"? Her: "no, it's pronounced Ы!" All a bit circular

Post anzeigenI have this sentence "Jūŗas kŗupim gŗāvī gŗūti" stuck in my memory XD Grandma used it to illustrate where the ŗ would have been used. Maybe it was something that was taught to her is school? In 1930ties.
