Post anzeigenConfirming one detail point: Over past 50 years, major prez speeches generally aimed at 8th-10th grade reading level. Simpler is clearer. It's a big diverse country. You want to get the main point across. But there's a huge difference between 8th-10th grade diction, and 4th-5th.
Post anzeigenTrump consistently communicating at the 4th-5th grade reading level meant he was talking to his base in a way they could understand and follow. (Unchanged by his dementia.) This was one of his great political strengths. I hope sane Presidents figure out a way to do something similar.
