Yeahh that is totally fair, at first I didn't really see a problem with how the series was being marketed at the time as someone who was just getting into sonic during that point in time, but now I realize how harmful of a marketing tactic it was, and I feel like it only contributed to the series

I feel like there's just no better term to describe the time of Sega just going "lmao yeah sonic sucks we're with you, sonic fans! Haha, look at his annoying friends, anyone remember BIG?! Sanic shirt! Arin gamegrump!" Sonic fans may have been annoying, but imo Sega was just as if not more

Cause on one hand, I do get where the term comes from, due to the marketing, decisions made within the games, and the humor within both the games and the sonic boom cartoon however i've grown to have a negative association with the term cause of fans who were really annoying about that era of sonic

Question to the sonic fans out there, how do ya'll feel about the term "meta era" to describe sonic during the 2010's? I ask this since I know the term for that era is pretty divisive, some people don't really mind it while others have a negative association with it, I'm mixed on it personally
