Fic is a gift. If someone knits me a scarf then sure, I am technically free to drag that scarf through the mud, no one can legally stop me. But if the person who made it for me sees me treat it like that? They might well feel upset, and they're not likely to give me anything else in future.

We went from "you're not entitled to comments" to "you're not entitled to kudos" to "you're not the owner of your fics, your readers are, deal with it" and people expect fanfic writers to just not start biting people?

Can't access the original copyright page on Ao3 for obvious reasons, but this applies for the rest of the web, too. *taps image* for anyone who needs a refresher... www.transformativeworks.org/tos-spotligh...

Good news: The penultimate Sugar Daddy AU fic is now complete! I will be attempting to finish the last one tomorrow (super short little epilogue thing, so I can probably bang it out in one day if I'm productive). Then I can begin longfic outlining! 👀🎉
